Tucked away spot in an intimate community. Not busy in the wee hours, but the setup easily accommodates crowds which I imagine are present in the latter parts of the day. Price and offerings were great!
Lady at the counter just delighted us. We ordered for triberry smoothi and it turned out to be sour for us with real cranberries in it. She redid the whole thing with apple juice and brown sugar ( we asked her to add) and ensured that it meets our pallets. Chai latte she made was awesome too. It was just right. A must visit place to experience great service and yummy beverage.
Breakfast sandwiches took an upwards of 20 mins, and she kept grabbing one to microwave several times. The egg in my sandwich was not fresh, but a prepackaged square. There was also roach laying beneath the table glass & table frame. Latte was so-so. Lady at the counter was polite.
Many plusses here. It serves breakfast! The ingredients are fresh tasting and looking. You can customize. I had an oven baked skillet and added pesto. The pesto was delicious! The local feel is great. Service was slower than mainland service but I'm good with Hawaii time. It was probably 15 plus minutes to get the food. Which is fine for me.
This place is a gem! The food is amazing and the Thai cultural values of community and tolerance shine through in the unique little cafe community that I witnessed while spending a few hours here.

Our server/barista was friendly, quick and efficient. The little things made the difference - coffee ice cubes in the iced coffee, overfilled smoothie container, massive tasty burrito.

Was recommended to coffee grinds from a local and it was a great breakfast. The coffee was good and a great view. I had a pesto breakfast sandwich on multigrain bread and it was fresh. My husband had a breakfast burrito with potatoes and eggs it was huge, very good enough to split for 2 people. Great little view and on the way to Volcanoes np. Will stop again when visiting the big island Mahalo!
The lady working there didn't acknowledge us, food looked good thou. It was such a long drive there and I was craving sweets. We were looking at the menu and she walked right past us, delivered the coffee to the white man, the phone rang, she put them on hold, made more coffee and walked past us again, (we are native), she then said to us, "I'll be right with you", then went to the phone that rang long after we got there and helped them. After a while, we just walked out. Save your money and head to the store that's behind L&L Hawaiian, better cheaper snacks and coffee there. We actually got nothing from Coffee Grinds.
